Need gourmet catering in Sydney? Here are our five top tips!

April 20, 2016

Whether you’re out to impress a client or say ‘thank you’ to your staff, delicious food and a good catering plan will deliver you the best results – every time.

Here are our five top tips to help you plan your next event.

Set your budget and headcount

The first step is to determine the head count, gender mix, and agree on a catering budget. Good gourmet caterers will be able to offer you several different menu options to fit all budgets.

Determine your event objectives

Being clear about what the objective of your event is will steer your catering choices. Do people need to be able to continue to work and talk throughout lunch?  Or is the event designed to enable networking? This will help you determine if guests will be seated to eat, or left to stand and mingle?

Once you’ve defined your objectives, your caterer should work with you to build the perfect catering plan which may include a breakfast menu, canapes and finger food, grazing plates, a sit down menu, buffet style barbecues, desert stations or even a full bar with waiters.

Get in early – or at least by 2pm the previous day!

Here at JuJu Catering we’re always happy to help and accommodate last minute requests where we can, but we’d advise placing your order at least 48 hours ahead of time where possible. With the right amount of preparation, we can help you put together a menu that you’ll love and will source the freshest and most delicious ingredients available for your special occasion. All orders for next day service must be into us by 2pm – to ensure we can plan and prepare your order.

 Allergies & Intolerances

These days food intolerances or allergies to certain food types are very common. If you have no advance time to check on your guests dietary requirements, we recommend incorporating vegetarian and gluten-free options into your menu. At JuJu Catering, we also offer many nutritious and healthy choice options that satisfy the taste buds and satiate hungry tums.

Communication and collaboration with your caterer

Your caterer should be happy to discuss your event in detail. Providing your caterer with as much information as possible including the schedule, guest list, dietary requirements, venue, parking and security access, key contact numbers and final delegate numbers, will ensure your event runs smoothly.

If you you’d like to plan your next event with JuJu Catering, please give us a call on 1300-WE-CATER or email us at info@jujucatering.com.au. We’d be happy to offer a complimentary ‘JuJu tasting’ to showcase our talents, and remember, we offer free delivery within Sydney CBD.
